Alan Oak has done copy, layout and substantive editing in a variety of professional and volunteer roles since 1995. He has edited newspapers, newsletters, non-fiction and fiction books, websites, academic journals and essays, proposals, resumes, and other professional writing. He continues to edit documents for clients and friends on a project-by-project basis. Alan is familiar with editing for multiple styles, including Harvard Business, MLA and APA. He has made a special study of writing for the Web, and has edited websites for optimum usability. Newsletter Editor, The Blade, LCR-D, 1997-1999: He solicited member articles, edited them for grammar and style, and laid them out in a professional-looking monthly publication. Computer Operator–Prepress, Taylor Publishing, 1995-1996: Taylor Publishing is a leading publisher of school yearbooks and trade publications. Alan's primary role at Taylor was to check client document files for grammar errors, changes, consistency of layout, print requirements and electronic issues. Periodically, he created custom layout and art. In addition, he lead the establishment of Taylor's first desktop scanning division.
